6spring2001.arb is a preliminary release of a new small subunit RNA database.
It contains only seqeuences comprising more than 1400 nucleotides.
A version containing in addition partial sequences of 1000 nucleotides and 
more as well as periodical updates will be available soon.

The inclusion of eucarya sequences containing insertions/introns resulted in an
alignment lenght of several thousand positons. To hide the many gaps use the 
respective tools of the editor (params > options > hide * gaps)

The tree is evaluated at the phyla level and will be optimized in further releases.

50% filters (simple 'most freequent base' method used) are included for the phyla.
